CAURD Data Leak Reveals 38 Applicants Remain for WNY, Including Some Interesting Ones…

A FOIA request revealed that 52 applicants applied for CAURD licenses in WNY.
Earlier this year, the State expanded CAURD to allow for up to 22 licenses in WNY, 14 of which have already been given out.
Out of the remaining 38 applicants, only 8 will be awarded a license to operate a dispensary.

Due to a Freedom of Information Act Request, the State released a list of all the applicants for the State’s Conditional Adult Use Retail Dispensary (CAURD) program. Fifty-two applicants preferred Western New York as their most desirable region.

With licensing initially delayed in the region due to a Federal injunction, 14 businesses have already been awarded dispensary licenses by the State.
